I bet you thought getting a massage means going to an expensive salon and lying down? Not necessarily. If you’ve got tense muscles in your face, headaches, or tired eyes, you can give yourself a facial massage that will help to relieve uncomfortable symptoms and de-stress.

And you get to control how much you charge your own hands for the job.

Tired Eyes

This little trick relieves not only stress but sinus pressure, too. Keep it in mind when you’re suffering from hay fever or other allergies.

Close your eyes and put your thumbs under your eyebrows and in the inside corner of each eye socket. Gently apply pressure with your thumbs and move toward the outside of your brows in tiny circles.

Go all the way around your eyes, ending at the bridge of your nose. Repeat, spending a little bit of extra time on those inner sockets.

Pamper Your Temples

Put your thumbs on your cheekbones, near your ears.

With your fingers, gently apply pressure and rub your temples for several minutes. Your temples are between the top of your ears and the corners of your eyes, by the way.

Top Headache Relief

You want to use firm pressure for this massage move. With the tips of your fingers, use small circular motions, and slowly move from your ears up your hairline until both hands meet at the center of your forehead.

Massage your forehead and the top of your scalp with the same circular motion and repeat.

Bottom Headache Relief

Not all headaches happen in the same part of your head, right?

Sometimes you’ve got an aching sensation at the back (and bottom) of your head that merges with neck pain, ouch! To get rid of this, use the pads of your index and middle finger to find the spot just behind your earlobes.

Apply pressure in circular motions.
