Your skin is exposed to environmental pollutants and chemicals on a daily basis. Depending on how many beauty products, cleansers, and moisturizers are in your arsenal of cosmetics, your skin may come face-to-face with a slew of chemical and potential irritants.

Mother Nature has many solutions that will feed and nourish your skin for only a few dollars.

A skincare crisis can really get you down if left untreated. If you want to skip the harsh chemicals that often come in store-bought skincare remedies, make your own with ingredients you already have around the house.

These homemade skincare recipes for sensitive skin are all-natural and easy-to-make to boot.

Yogurt Face Mask

This recipe contains one part yogurt and one part honey. The duo combines to create a nourishing and soothing treatment for your skin. Honey is a natural humectant, meaning it helps to trap and retain moisture.

It also works to cleanse the pores and prevent acne breakouts because of its natural antibacterial properties. Yogurt will aid honey’s moisturizing ability.

Simply mix 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 tablespoon of yogurt. Apply to your skin for 15 minutes and rinse.

Oatmeal Facial Cleanser

Oatmeal is a non-irritating and natural exfoliant. It works to slough away dead skin while gently cleansing to help you put your best face forward. A light and refreshing cleanser can be whipped up by mixing 3 tablespoons of oatmeal and 2 teaspoons of witch hazel in a bowl.

Witch hazel is a natural astringent that is effective, yet gentle. It will cleanse pores without irritating your skin. Avoid getting this mixture in the eye area, as witch hazel could irritate the eyes.

Add a bit of water to the mixture, stir and gently cleanse your skin.

Avocado Facial Cleanser

Avocado is an effective ingredient for beauties with sensitive skin because it is deeply nourishing, soothing, and non-irritating. It doesn’t strip away the skin’s natural moisture, and the oil within avocados helps to retain the delicate lipid barrier of the skin.

Beat one egg yolk in a bowl until it reaches a frothy consistency. Add a half cup of milk and half of mashed avocado. Mix well and apply it to your skin.

Gently massage into your face to cleanse, rinse, and voila! Clean, nourished skin is the result.

Oatmeal Facial Scrub

Exfoliating your skin will help to reveal a brighter complexion and slough away dead skin that may leave you with a dull, ruddy complexion. Kick the dead skin to the curb with a gentle exfoliant.

Oatmeal and honey can team up to make a light, non-abrasive scrub for sensitive-skinned ladies. Mix a half cup of oatmeal and 1 tablespoon of honey until the mixture forms a paste.

Apply to your skin and massage lightly. Allow the mixture to stay on your skin for up to 15 minutes before gently rinsing.

Egg Yolk Mask

Get rid of your dry, scaly skin with an easy-to-make hydrating mask. It will help exfoliate the skin while hydrating and softening your scales.

Beat two egg yolks well, then mix in one tablespoon of honey and apply to your entire face. Leave on for half an hour before rinsing.

Apple Cider Vinegar Toner

Oily skin can make you look greasy or shiny. Skip the shine by using apple cider vinegar as a toner twice per day. This natural vinegar contains acetic acid and is a drying agent.

Apply a bit of apple cider vinegar onto a cotton pad and swipe over your face in the morning and at night to curb excess oil.

Lemon Juice and Egg  White Mask

Acne is often combined with oily skin, so not only do you have these horrible breakouts but you have to fight shine, too. To combat both these problems, try an at-home facial mask.

Beat two egg whites until foamy and mix in two teaspoons of lemon juice. Use a soft cloth or cotton ball to apply the mask to areas of the face that are prone to breakouts. Allow the mask to dry before you rinse it off with cool water.

Baking Soda Paste

Dull skin can be remedied at home with gentle exfoliation. Brighten up, girl!

Mix one tablespoon of baking soda with a small amount of water to create a paste. Then apply the mixture to dry skin, rubbing in a circular motion for about 30 seconds.
